Woman set 12 years old girl on fire ontop sey she steal her N1000

34 years old woman on Wednesday don appear before one Ogudu Magistrates’ Court for Lagos ontop say she set her 12 years old pikin on fire.

Dem dock the accused, Uzoma Austin, wey dey stay number 5, Adesoji St., Agiliti, Mile 12 area of Lagos, on two-count of injuring by explosive substance and causing grievous harm.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Lucky Ihiehie, talk say the woman set the little girl wey be her foster child on fire on June 8, for her house, ontop say she steal N1000.

The woman talk say em no dey guilty of the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs Sule Amzat, give am option of N50,000 bail with two sureties, one of the sureties must be family member and must show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) take the case up after Ketu Police Station Family Support Unit inform them about the matter.

The Coordinator of DSVRT, Mrs Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, said talk say dem rescue the pikin kon carry am go Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.

She say,

“The girl was first taken for first aid at LASUTH, but now, she is receiving treatment at The Gbagada General Hospital,’’

She say dem go arrange for where the girl go dey stay after she don collect treatment finish.

Dem adjourn the case to July 8, for further hearing.
