Serious tension for Abuja as 12 cow don die of poison
Serious tension rise for Apo new site, one community wey dey Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, after 12 cows die on Monday.
Dem say the cattle die after dem go chop grass for one woman house.
Some Fulani youths wey the matter vex dem, kon attempt to start protest for the community but dem no gree allow dem to carry out the plan.
The person wey get the cattle, Alhaji Ibrahim Madawaki, complain say em don loose like 42 cows for one year, still kon talk say 30 of the dead cattle die the same way.
He kon call for government intervention to prevent violent crisis for the area, say the situation fit get out of hand if dem no do anything to stop the killing of em livestock.
Madawaki talk say some Fulani youths wan protest for the latest killing of em animals, but na the elders tell dem make dem calm down.
“This is not the first time they were killing my cattle. Last year, the same thing happened and almost 30 cows died and last week, about 12 were also poisoned.
“We need the Federal Government to intervene so peace can reign here. If this thing continues and if we decide to revenge, people will say Fulani herdsmen have started again. The same thing (crisis) is happening in Jos, Kaduna, Nasarawa, we don’t want it to happen in FCT.
“We want the authority to help so that we don’t experience the same thing here. If we were not around when the incident happened, it might have degenerated into a crisis, but we asked our boys to calm down and allow us to handle it.”
The Chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, FCT branch, Adamu Daura, accuse one unnamed woman say na she dey poison the animals, say dem don report the matter to the police station make dem do investigation.
“We want the people concerned to replace the dead cows. We are waiting for the police to tell us what they would do about it. We are also waiting for some veterinary doctors to test the cows to know the kind of poison they consumed,”
The FCT Police spokesman, Manzah Anjuguri, talk say the Force don start investigation for the matter so.
