Rivers Utd to inspire NPFL win
Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) head coach Fatai Amoo has said that the pedigree of top-flight opponents Rivers United will provide his side to unlock the Garden City outfit.
The Oluyole Warriors are hosts of the Pride of Rivers in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 6 clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan.
Amoo said his side are already bruised after the 2-0 spanking at promoted side Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC, and they will fight hard to recoup the lost points against the Port Harcourt outfit.
Unarguably, this clash against Rivers United will be the toughest so far in the ongoing top-flight.
The former Sunshine Stars coach said to supersport;
“Rivers United are strong side, Caf Champions League campaigners and winners of the NPFL Super Four.
“The indices point to the fact that Rivers United are solid side as shown in the on-going league.
“However, Rivers United strengths will serve as the drive and tonic for us to go all out to beat the side.
“The players know the task ahead and already know that they must raise their game to the highest to stand a chance against the visitors.
“Fans’ support is quite key as it means everything to us to be able to subdue the opponents, Rivers United.
“We are wounded by the shocking loss to ABS FC in llorin. We must turn our disadvantage or disparity between us and Rivers United into advantage to claim the three points at stake,”
