Police arrest two suspects ontop sey dem forge US Visa payment slip

Police don arrest two suspects ontop sey dem forge payment slips for United States visa application fees to take multiple online registrations for people wey dey try travel out.

Dem accuse, Sesan Awolola, 31, and 28-year-old Adebayo Ajasa, sey dem dey do fake visas.

Operatives of Police Special Fraud Unit (SFU) arrest dem for Tinubu area, Lagos Island.

Report reveal sey dem dey always collect like N60,000 from people wey apply as dem dey pretend sey na the same amount wey dem dey pay for bank be that.

The police talk say the suspects dey use computer software applications to take manipulate genuine visa payment slips wey bank issue and dem go kon use the ones wey dem forge to take register for different people wey pay them another money.

Report yarn say, US Embassy kon notice the whole thing kon alert the SFU wey dem kon arrest them.

The spokesperson for the SFU, ASP Lawal Audu, wey paraded the suspects on Thursday, talk say police don dey search for he other members of their gang wey don run.

He say,

“The suspects claimed to be working as online appointment agents for the American Embassy. They specialise in manipulating visa payment slips in order to use same for more than one applicant.

“Trouble started for them when one applicant paid the sum of N60,000 into Adebayo Ajasa’s account with Guarantee Trust Bank for a visa fee for his son. Ajasa, instead of making payment upon receipt of the money, opted to buy an already used receipt, belonging to another applicant from Awolola for N30,000. Ajasa used the payment slip using CorelDraw application to do the manipulation and made a booking for his client.”

Ajasa, talk say em don dey into online visa appointment since 2012.

He say,

“Segun (Awolola) and I have been friends for five years, but this is the first time I would buy the visa application fee receipt from him. I usually do the appointment for my clients while they bring receipts. But in this case, the client paid N60,000 – N54,000 for the application fee and N6,000 for my service. I met with Segun and he said he had one to sell for N30,000. I didn’t know it had been used.”

Awolola deny sey em sell the payment slip to Ajasa.

He talk say em help one man, em wife and their son to book appointment for US, but dem reject the boy application ontop say dem don use the receipt.

“It was a friend, Rafiu, that invited me to his office sometime last month to assist in registering for the family. The man paid for the visa application fees himself at GTB. One of the receipts did not go through. I mailed the American Embassy and they replied that someone had used the receipt. The person, whose name appeared on it, was also invited and the person said it was Ajasa that he paid to.”

DEm also arrest one businesswoman and graduate of University of Ilorin, Afolabi Modupeola, wey patronise one Wale (wey don run) to take get one fake US visa.

 The businesswoman talk say she decide to get the visa through another ways as embassy no gree approve am.
She say she wan travel go US to go buy jewelries and clothes.
