Fifteen suspects don talk say dem no dey guilty for the gbege between two gangs for Idi Oro, Mushin, Lagos State, wey stray bullet go kill one Kayode, wey be load carrier.

Dem arraign the suspects with 24 others on Thursday for LAgos State Mobile Court on four counts of breach of peace and unlawful possession of cannabis.

Na combined team of police and men of Nigerian Army come calm the area down as dem arrest like 68 people.

After dem screen the suspects, na like 39 people go face one magistrate Mr. Tosin Ojuromi, on Thursday.

Dem sentence fifteen of dem wey plead guilty to between six to two years imprisonment with option of fine from N150,000 to N200,000.

The sixteen wey plead not guilty, dem grant dem bail of N250,000 each with two surety of the same amount, and make dem remand dem for prison till dem fit meet their bail conditions.

The magistrate discharge and acquit eight other people after proper identification kon adjourn the case to MAy 25, 2017 for commencement of trial of the 16 defendants.

The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, talk say na after serious investigation na em dem arraign the suspects.

He say,

“The prosecuted miscreants and hoodlums were gang members from Alamutu Street and Akala Elegba boys. They engaged one another in a free-for-all that resulted in loss of life with serious looting of valuables of innocent traders, which include food items like bags of rice, beans, palm oil, banana and burning of houses/shops around Idi Oro.

“Weapons recovered by security agencies during the fracas include machetes, axes, rods, cutlasses and charms with six bags of hemp.

“The Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration is determined to provide a peaceful environment devoid of criminal activities. Parents and guidance should always monitor activities of their wards as the government would not spare anyone or group of persons caught breaching the peace being enjoyed by the citizens of the state.”
